BEECHBeech trees from Pennsylvania tend to be large. The result is wide boards that contain a large percentage of heartwood. The heartwood tends to be a light brown color. Grades in Beech Prime - Put up 5"x7' minimum, unselected for color. There is a good variety of widths. Lengths are 7' 16' with a good percent of 12'&longer. Our prime grade runs approximately 60% Sapface&Better. Com/Sel - Put up 4"&wider, 6'&longer, unselected for color. Because we use optimizing equipment to virtually eliminate wane, our #3A Common is a good alternative to #2A Common. #3

for color. The lumber makes an excellent "rustic" product where
the sound defects are left in.
