HARD MAPLE

We have great Hard Maple from northern Pennsylvania and New York. The sapwood is very bright, has a good length distribution, and good width. We typically get at least 15% long on our loads of prime.

Grades in Hard Maple

Prime - Put up #1&2 White, 5'&wider, 7 16'. Sapwood is bright. Good variety of lengths. For loads of particular lengths, please inquire.

Com/Sel - Put up #1&2 White, 4"&wider, 6'16'. Optimizing equipment virtually eliminates waste due to wane.

Strips - Put up #1&2 White, 4"-5", 6'-16'.

#2A Common - Put up Sapface & Better, 4"&wider, 6'&longer. A large percent of boards are #1&2 White. Optimizing equipment vitually eliminates waste due to wane.

#3A Common - Put up Sapface & Better, 4"&wider, 6'&longer. Because we use optimizing equipment to virtually eliminate wane, our #3A Common is a good alternative to #2A Common.

#3 Common - Put up 4"&wider, 6'&longer, unselected for color. The lumber makes an excellent "rustic" product where the sound defects are left in.

Sapface #1 Common - One face of the board is all sapwood, the other face is heavy heartwood. This grade is for users who have a one face application that requires sapwood.

Prime Brown - This grade is for all prime boards that do not meet our #1&2 White specifications. Typically used as a paint grade or rustic material.

#1 Common Brown - This grade is for all #1 Common boards that do not meet our #1&2 White or sapface #1 Common specifications. Typically used as a paint grade or rustic material.

Brown #2 Common - This grade is for all #2 Common boards that do not meet our #2 Common sapwood requirements. Typically used as a paint grade or rustic material.
