Pennsylvania
Red Oak tends to run pinkish red in color. We do not get a lot of mineral
in our oak. We defect against mineral and off color boards so that you
receive a consistant colored product.
Grades
in Red Oak
Prime
- Put up 5" & wider x 7' & longer. Typical loads
include 15%-20% 13'-16' and no more than 35% 7'-8'. Straight loads of
particular lengths available from time to time. Good variety of widths
are included.
Strips
- Put up 4"-5", 6'-16'. Good variety of lengths. Runs
heavier to 12' & shorter that other grades.
Com/Sel
- Put up 4" & wider, 6' & longer. Color is consistant.
We pull off
color boards and defect against mineral. Optimizing equipment virtually
eliminates waste due to wane.
#2A
Common - Put up 4" & wider, 6' & longer. Color is
consistant. We pull off color boards and defect against mineral. Optimizing
equipment virtually eliminates waste due to wane.
#3A
Common - Put up 4" & wider, 6' & longer, unselected
for color. Because we use optimizing equipment to virtually eliminate
wane, our #3A Common is a good alternative to #2A Common.

Common - Put up 4" & wider, 6' & longer, unselected
for color. The lumber makes an excellent "rustic" product where
the sound defects are left in.
Prime
10" & wider - Put up 10" & wider, 7' &
longer. Stock is graded to cross-cut to make sure the product matches
customer needs.
